A Step in the Right Direction Hygiene Free Store

A Step in the Right Direction (SRD) is launching a hygiene free store in March 2023.

Individuals will be able to request 5 items once every 30 days. The items include body wash, soap, deodorant, menstrual products, toothbrush, toothpaste, dish soap, detergent, toilet paper or other items like Narcan, condoms, pregnancy tests. After submitted a request, you will receive a confirmation email or text with information on pick up date and time.

Eligibility: You must live in 43222, 43223, 43204, or 43228.

AbsoluteCare works with CareSource member that have a high utilization in the emergency room and we help them with their social determinants of health needs. We partner with organizations to help us.

Access to Care at Columbus Public Health

Access to Care is a program through Columbus Public Health to provide access to health insurance, where to get care, local resources and more.

They offer a resource center at Columbus Public Health (240 Parsons Ave) that does not require an appointment (wait times may vary), and in-person and over-the-phone language interpretation is available. What to bring: proof of home and/or mailing addresses for everyone applying (such as state ID or utility bill), social security numbers, employer and income information for every member of household (W2 forms), and immigration documents.

Medicaid only sign-up assistance is offered Monday from 9AM-12:30PM and Thursday from 1-4:30PM.

Health Insurance Marketplace & Medicaid Sign-up Assistance is available Tuesday and Friday from 11AM-3PM.

SNAP (Food Stamps) Sign-up Assistance is offered Wednesday from 9AM-12:30PM

Individualized services include both traditional and intensive outpatient treatment for addiction, supportive housing, medical services, mental health and trauma treatment, family services, and job readiness and placement. Our effective treatment model allows clients to live healthy, productive lives.

Amethyst focuses on single women and reuniting families by offering recovery in an integrated, family-centered environment to give women and children collective hope and opportunity to truly break the cycle of poverty and addiction.

Amethyst does not offer emergency services. Access to Amethyst services is available following an assessment of need and the appropriate level of care required, or if a referral to another care provider is needed.

Bottoms Up Coffee is a craft coffee shop with a social mission - combatting infant mortality. Bottoms Up provides high quality, craft coffee drinks, vegan breakfast, lunch, and bakery items, and a community gathering place.
It also provides diapers and other health resources to Franklinton parents year round. To date, Bottoms Up has given away over 15,000 diapers and supported groups like CelebrateOne, Lower Lights, and many others to combat infant mortality in Franklinton.

BrightView is an outpatient addiction treatment center, that pairs a patient-focused and evidence-based approach with the compassion and commitment to improve lives. We combine medical treatment with psychological therapy and social services to give patients the comprehensive support they need to overcome addiction. We offer evidence-based, outpatient addiction treatment programs to help people rebuild their lives without completely uprooting them. At BrightView, we offer substance abuse treatment programs including: Addiction Treatment programs for: Meth, Heroin, Marijuana, Opioids, and Alcohol. We offer medication treatment such as Suboxone, Vivitrol, and Subutex. We pair medication assisted treatment, therapy and case management.
